Robert Hugill on Writing New Opera

I just happened upon an excellent article called "Writing New Opera." It comes from Robert Hugill writing for the online daily music magazine Music & Vision.

The article focuses largely on the composer's shaping and/or avoidance of narrative through the libretto. It's a great read and especially useful to me today, as I expect to finish my new libretto before sundown!
