Tibetan Singing Bowls

At the suggestion of a friend, I'm looking into a small, non-traditional instrumental ensemble to accompany my new opera. The current wish list includes:

- Amplified acoustic guitar
- 2 cellos
- Percussion: vibes+bow, crystal glasses, tam-tam, wood chimes, temple blocks, rain stick, suspended cymbal, mid-low tom, tub of water?
- 3 singing bowls (for the chorus)

I wasn't too familiar with this last item. They seem like a great way to draw us into the contemplative other-world of Howard's dreams. I'm so excited to get my hands on some! See examples here:

In other news, work on the libretto continues after a brief hiatus due to a weekend conference and job searching. Still plugging away!
